American Revolution Unit

Wednesday July 4th 2007

Here is a picture from last homeschool year of our co-op reenacting the American Revolution. Was that a big undertaking. The kids and I learned so much about the foundation of our country. The bloodshed and sacrifices our forefathers went through. Images of the Iraq war today spark the realities of war. Our brave soldiers who give so much of themselves for the love of our country. Meanwhile protests within American opposing the war. It saddens me... Talk about pulling and putting a time table on the war is utterly ridiculous. If this was the same mentality back when our country was formed I really don't think America wouldn't have had a chance. So as you celebrate around the pool this 4th of July take time out to reflect and read about our nations birth. It's so important that we as a nation learn the mistakes, efforts and successes of our the past to help us grow in the future.

Happy 4th of July!!!
